Speaker’s Bureau
Inspired by the success of a similar Parliamentary Group in the UK, the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Prevention of Genocide and other Crimes Against Humanity (Genocide Prevention Group) has grown from the Save Darfur Coalition initiated in 2006. It is an informal group of Parliamentarians composed of all parties in the House of Commons and the Senate possessing an interest in the prevention of Genocide and similar crimes against humanity.
As part of our mission, the Genocide Prevention Group aims to raise awareness about these issues with groups in civil society: schools, universities, student groups, churches, unions, or non-governmental organizations.
Executive members can speak on themes related to genocide, specific situations of concern, current Canadian foreign policy for genocide prevention, and the Genocide Prevention Group’s current work. The secretariat of the Genocide Prevention Group can make arrangements for members of its executive to participate in a panel discussion or speak at an event.
